SFRTA Brings Home Top Honors from APTA Marketing Workshop
The SFRTA won a First Place Award in the 2019 Annual AdWheel Awards competition, sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). The winning entry was in the category of Best Social Media Campaign to Increase Ridership or Sales. Named “Our Price is Right,” it was a campaign targeting South Florida residents between the ages of 18 and 55, using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It highlighted Tri-Rail service as a beneficial mode of transportation for commuters and focused on Tri-Rail’s low-cost train fares from various station locations in the region. The award was presented at the annual APTA Marketing and Communications Workshop, which was held this year in New Orleans, LA.
Also recognized at the workshop for her many years of service to the transportation industry was SFRTA Public Information Officer Bonnie Arnold, who spent four years as the Vice Chair and Chair of the APTA Marketing and Communications Committee. Ms. Arnold is retiring from the SFRTA in July 2019, after representing the Agency to the media for almost 19 years. She was active in APTA that entire time, including serving on the APTA Board of Directors for a number of years.
